Nail Call: Q2 2016

Before it gets too far into July, here is my list of polishes I used in the last 3 months.  My goal for the year is to use every polish I own once.  However, I recently had a 6 month no buy end and may have gone a little wild with ordering new polish colors so that might be near impossible.  Next year I plan to go back to a more traditional project polish where I try to use up a few bottles of polish and am using this year as a chance to both cull my collection and to find colors I want to put into that project.

OPI mini (I think this came from a brights mini collection)

This was alright.  It has a blue shift to it that is a bit much for and it really showed my nail lines. I am going to throw in my give away pile because I have other bright pinks I like better.

Julep "Nan"

This was in last year's project polish and I love it. Because it is mostly used up I will throw it into the pile for next year's project.  I will probably rebuy when I do use it up though.

Maybelline Color Show Stripped Nudes "In Your Flesh"

I really enjoy this color and the formula was nice.  Definitely keeping and I might pick up some more Maybelline Color Show polishes.

Zoya "Monica"

I tried using a matte top coat to make this a little less intense.  However, it was still very dark.  I will keep this for now, but it is on my watch list.

Zoya "Jana"

I love taupes.  This one was fantastic.  I am definitely holding on to it.

Zoya "Adrianna"

I really want to like this and have used up a fair bit of it trying to love it.  I think really it is just alright.  I will hold onto it and put in next year's project.  Also, Julep describes this as a pistachio cream, so I thought pistachios would make the perfect backdrop.

Julep "Manda"

I loved this so much more than I thought it would.  It has a really subtle gold shimmer that give it just a hint of interest while being a gorgeous base blue.

Julep "Zoey"

This lets me get my blue fix in while being a little more subdued an grey-based.  I really liked this polish.

Julep "Erin"

A good solid grey.  I own a ridiculous amount of grey polish, but this one covered well and has no shimmer.

Sinful Colors "Sugar Rush"

I really like the shade of this bright, light blue.   I wish it covered a little better, but I think it was get goopy because it is a few years old.  I put some polish thinner in it and am holding onto it for now.  Also, the clean roller ball I am holding in the picture I absolutely love.

Julep "Mary Lee"

I like that this is a satin finish and a nice rich color.  This probably would have been a better fit in the fall, but I was feeling off season because I was cooped up reading.

Zoya "Malia"

I wanted a lovely lavender, but got a straight up purple.  This is a little too bright and dark for what I was looking for.  It is a really pretty purple, but it felt a little juvenile so I am going to put it in the give away box.

Julep "Vera"

I liked this a fair bit.  It was a little runny, but with two or three coats I could build it up just fine.

Julep "Devon"

This has a magenta shift running through it which is really beautiful in the bottle, but doesn't show up on the nail.  I will be letting this go.

Julep "Princess Grace"

By far and away my favorite creamy orange.  I had it in my project polish and want to use it up next year.  I have some other oranges, but will probably eventually end up repurchasing this.  This body butter smells absolutely heavenly and is very thick.

Zoya "Kitridge"

This was a very nice baby pink.  A little bit darker than I was hoping for so I am still on my hunt for the perfect opaque nearly white pink.

Zoya "Nyx"

I keep telling myself I don't feel comfortable wearing glitters and I need to start getting rid of some of these, but look so pretty! I am not very good at culling.

Zoya "Coco"

I really loved this.  I wish it was a smidge lighter, but this is a great fall color.

Julep "Clara"

I liked this peach a lot.  It is one of my first Julep polishes, so at least a couple of years old at this point.  I think I will throw this in the use up pile for next year.

Julep "Farrah"

I like this matte shimmer purple. I have a few other of the silk finish polishes from Julep and I think I will be holding onto all of them.

Julep "Celia"

This is a mermaid polish and I am a beautiful mermaid!

Sinful Colors "Beautiful Girl"

I like this just fine, but man do I have a lot of pale pink polishes.  I will hang onto it, but I should really consider using it up.

Julep "Linda"

Yet another very nice grey.  I have a bit of theme.  I am pretending this is drastically different thanks to the purple lean it has.

Nails Inc "Old Bond Street"

This was a very nice bright navy.  I really like this mini.  It was good coverage and didn't stain too horribly for such a pigmented blue

OPI mystery neon yellow

Who know I owned so many lemon lime colored objects? I have since used up the Murad eye cream sample, but I did really like it.  I am going to hold onto this one because it was really fun for the summer time.

Zoya "Kristen"

Yet another nice light blue.  A little on the grey side and not that unique to my collection, but I like what I like.  I also have been very much enjoying this Aveda styling cream.

Julep mystery pink polish

I liked this warm deep pink.  It can be a little bold, but if I put a matte top coat on it really tones it down.

Julep "Kam"

This is one of like a half dozen mint polishes I own.  I like this one, I will be keeping this one.
