Revlon Minted:
I love that people take nail photos of them holding random objects to showcase their nail color so I took that theme and ran with it.
Nothing makes you feel like greased lightening at the gym quite like when your nail polish matches your shoes. Or more like some weird beauty girl that shouldn't be allowed to sweat.
This was a champ of a polish. It lasted up to a week on me without chipping and only took 2 coats for full opacity. I have had this polish a long time and have no other Revlon polishes, they aren't really the first brand that comes to mind when I think "nail polish", but Minted made me want to pick up a few more.
Julep Zoey:
This came out earlier this year in one of the boxes. It is a grey-leaning blue that applies well in 2 coats.
I have a rather extensive pile of Julep polishes in my collection. I like the box system and picking up random polishes when they go on a good sale. Julep tends to do creams best, which is my preferred finish for polishes.
I like that Julep is 4-free (or 5?) because they tend to smell a little less strongly than more mainstream polishes. I also like the idea of fewer harmful chemicals going into a product that somebody somewhere has to make.
The grey-blue tone of Zoey works nicely as something vaguely professional without being boring. I struggle with sparkle polishes as they just feel too intrusive in my everyday situations. And they distract me because I like looking at shiny things.
Julep Julep:
Yes, Julep named a polish after their company.
I actually adore this polish. I like the bright pinky-purple, the color almost perfectly matches radiant orchid - the pantone color of the year for 2014. It adds a pop of summer as the seasons change. The polish had a nice formula and was fully opaque in two thin coats.
Julep Nan:
This is a ridiculously pretty red. I like that it is warm yet somewhat dusty. It is opaque in two coats and applies smoothly.
Julep Princess Grace:
My boyfriend is a big fan of orange, I am not usually. This soft orange was more acceptable to me and made him very happy to see on my hands. It only needed to be applied in two quotes for full opacity.
Nails Inc. George Street:
This was a rather thin polish. As you can see in the top photo, my nail ridges are still clearly visible through the polish despite having probably 3 or 4 coats on. I did love the soft dusty pink of this shade though. The above photos wash it out a little, but there was very little contrast with my skin color. This, like the Revlon, lasted a very long time on me without chipping.
Nails Inc. Regent Street:
This is such a fantastic red. It really pops and I like that it has hints of brown in the deep formula. My biggest complaint is that it is fairly sheer and can easily look patchy. I have found that this is a common problem with deep red nail polishes and likely due more to the pigment rather than the specific formula of this polish.
Julep Winter:
I love a good grey polish and this one is right up my alley. There are hints of green in this grey that give it depth and interest. This also has good opacity, as I find with pretty much all Julep cream polishes.
